This listing is for an instant downloadable knitting pattern – not a physical printed pattern or the finished item. The Elderberry Bunny and its outfits are knitted flat using 2 needles, and the pattern is written in English.
Elderberry Bunny measures approximately 10 inches (28 cm) from foot to top of the head (excluding ears). The feet, legs, and body are knitted in one piece, while the head, ears, arms, and tail are knitted separately and sewn on. An assembly guide is included for easy construction. The pattern includes directions for the Elderberry Bunny, as well as a dress, bonnet, dungarees, hat, basket, and even a Peaky Blinders cap.
Suggested yarns for a plain knit bunny:
- Paintbox Simply Aran (1 ball)
- Caron Simply Soft (1 ball)
Suggested yarn for a furry/fuzzy bunny:
- Eider by Wendy (1 ball)
- Phil Douce by Phildar (2 balls)
- Phil Nounous by Phildar (2 balls)
- Cuddly Chunky by King Cole (1 ball)
- Velour by Katia (2 balls)
- Eyelash yarns by Yarn Paradise
- Eskimo by Stylecraft (double knit weight; bunny may be smaller)
Notes for Knitters:
- Aran/Worsted weight is used for the contrasts. Be sure to follow the needle size listed in the pattern, not the ball band.
- If you prefer to use plain double knit weight, opt for 2.5mm needles; your bunny will be smaller.
- For the outfits, I recommend using 4ply yarn with the appropriate needle size.
- Yarns for the outfits are listed with the outfit instructions.
- Increases are made by knitting into the front and back of the same stitch.
